Lucy Sutschek’s Life Story - Featured Profile

Meet Lucy. Even though Lucy was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, she is still able to recall stories about her adventurous childhood, memories about being as a mother of five, and the history behind becoming a successful real estate agent. Since Lucy is always described as the “life of the party,” her granddaughter Molly wanted to make sure that spirit was captured throughout the memoirs.

Rory was commissioned by Molly Purcell, Lucy’s granddaughter, to create the biography as a Christmas surprise for the whole family. By incorporating special photographs and memorabilia, (like a recipe card Lucy wrote in her high school home economics class) the stories came to life. There wasn’t a dry eye on Christmas Day when the entire family opened their own copies of Grandma Lucy’s life story.

Grandma Lucy’s biography has become one of my most prized possessions. I just don’t know what I would have done without Rory’s help in making this book a reality. It’s a great feeling to know that someday my children will get to know my spunky Grandma Lucy through her own words!
