The Texan Biographer - Rory Siefer
Project Spotlight: O’Connell Family Memories
notes
Meet Joe and Jean. Joe spent over 25 years working for the Bureau and describes his work there as some of the most fulfilling adventures of his life. Jean, an amazing mother of three, was responsible for moving her children and home to over 17 of Joe’s FBI placements.
Joe and Jean’s interviews were completed in a few weeks time and before long Rory had a wonderful working manuscript of their best stories. Rory was able to pull in historical details about Joe’s service in the South Pacific and even information about the Bureau under the reign of J. Edgar Hoover. After the book's publication, and with so many of their children and grandchildren surrounding them, Joe and Jean unveiled their completed biography. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as they paged carefully through their life story… captured in all its glory!
I was speechless when I finally was able to hold the finished copy in person and share it with my children and grandchildren. I am so proud of the stories that we saved and so glad we took the time to complete this project. I loved working with Rory because she just made us feel so comfortable. Words cannot describe what this biography means to me and my family!
